Must keep updating!!!

Its been an age since I last updated this blog, very easy to fall out of the habit.
I've had a busy few months working on the Vigilance Press, WWII Icons books. Heres a couple of the images I created. I've been sticking with a new style and process for these images, woking with Greyscale then adding colour washes on top.

Red Sun

Another image created for the EOW over on ConceptArt. The challenge was to use the minimum range of colour.
An industrial planet orbiting a bloated and dying Red Star.

Icons of WWII

Character illustration for a WWII Superhero setting, using the new ICONS system. My good friend Mike Lafferty is penning the project. As soon as I get more details on the new system i'll post some links.

Lothlorien

Took part in the EOW challenge over on ConceptArt.org, the challenge was to depict Lothlorien from Middle Earth. I've not done many environments but really enjoyed painting this one. I'm definitely going to create more.

Captain America

Over on the Mutants and Masterminds Forum (the Atomic Think Tank) a bunch of us artists take part in a monthly art challenge. This months challenge was to depict a patriotic hero or villain. I'm a big Captain America fan so just couldn't resist. I went with Cap in WWII supporting the American Airborne in Europe. If anyone wants to check out the monthly art Challenges you can find them here:

Eagles of Berlin

This was for a Mutants & Masterminds Setting by Mike Lafferty (check out his blog: Punchy Monkey ) I've done lots of work for Mike over the past couple of years, mostly for his MnM Cold war setting.

Here be Giants

I'm very happy with the way this image turned out, It started as a environmental practice piece that just developed, its also the first painting that started as greyscale to sort out the values (something I now do with all my artworks)
